REGIONAL SUMMITS
Raising learners'
unique voices
Get ready to see education
through a whole new lens
Regional Summits, hosted annually by each of the founding higher education partners, bring together learners from local and regional high schools and youth-serving organizations to generate ideas that transform their lives, their communities, and education itself.
Learners build essential skills and take charge of their education while institutions encourage and assess ideas for educational change.
Learner cohorts are identified by high schools and youth-serving organizations who have joined a Regional Partner Network.
IDEAS IN ACTION
Learner Engagement
Challenge
A pilot Regional Summit was held at Grand Valley State University, the organizer and convener of REP4, in the summer of 2020. Known as the Learner Engagement Challenge, the six-week program involved 25 area high school students, along with Grand Valley students, in reimagining the future of learning to meet the changing needs of the 21st century. The program yielded student ideas the university has now actually implemented.
